How it works
SpecimenTrace features a user-friendly workflow and is easy to integrate with most major EHR systems, such as Epic or Cerner.
Specimen Order
The order is placed for the specimen and it is placed in a container. For a regular pathology specimen, the specimen is then taken to the Mobile Aspects console, attached to a refrigerator unit.
Secure Storage
The Mobile Aspects console controls the lock and switch on the refrigerator. Using a badge, the user accesses the storage unit and scans the specimen barcode to confirm placement.
Lab Retrieval
The lab staff arrive and log in to the console to remove the specimen from the fridge unit. The specimen barcode is scanned for removal and logged.
Lab Receiving
After transporting the specimen to the lab, the staff login into the console and confirm receipt by scanning the specimen barcode.
End-to-End Tracking
SpecimenTrace tracks specimens from the moment they are collected until they reach the lab, ensuring a seamless and transparent process.
SLA Compliance
The system ensures that specimens reach pathology within their Service Level Agreement (SLA) times for both normal and stat specimens.
